JANICE BENOIT BECOMES BRIDE

WEST BRIDGEWATER.—Gladiolus and palms decorated St. Ann's church for the marriage of Janice Alice Benoit, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard E. Benoit, Sr., of 775 North Main street and John Albert Anderson, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Nils Anderson, of 58 Applegate street, Brockton. The nuptial mass took place at 10:30 A. M. Saturday with Rev. Francis S. Shea officiating.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, was a petite and lovely picture in her gown of white Chantilly lace; fashioned with a fitted bodice, long pointed sleeves and a high round neckline. The sheer marquisette yoke was trimmed with tiny seed pearls and the full circular shirt terminated in a Cathedral length train. Her finger-tip veil of silk illusion was attached to a rhinestone and pearl tiara and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink roses with ivy streamers.

Serving as the bride's principal attendant was Miss Joyce Palka of 98 Hudson avenue, Cohoes, N. Y.; whose maid of honor gown was of rose lace, with fitted bodice and floor length bouffant skirt of nylon set with lace inserts.

Bridesmaids were Miss Jane Smith of 243 East street, West Bridgewater, cousin of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Lester Leonard of Holbrook. Their gowns were in pink and blue and of a design similar to the honor maid. All carried sweetheart roses to march their wreaths of rosebuds and ivy.

Serving as best man was Milton Rockwell of 45 River street, this town, with users being George Faucher of 830 Stafford road, Fall River, and Robert Noyes of Brockton. Traditional wedding music was played by Fanny Chamber, organist with Patricia Carreira as soloist. Mrs. Benoit chose for her daughter's wedding a taffeta print with white accessories and wore a corsage of yellow roses. Mrs. Anderson was gowned in charcoal grey also wearing white accessories. Her corsage was of pink roses.

The reception was held immediately following the church ceremony, at the bride's home, which was decorated with arrangements of white carnations and gladiolus.

The receiving line was made up of the wedding party, augmented by the parents of both young people. Guests were present from Cohoes, Troy and Albany, N. Y., Portsmouth, R. I., Fall River, Brockton, Brookline, Randolph, Abington, Holbrook and West Bridgewater. Wedding gifts included silver, glass, china, linens, electrical appliances and currency. The young Mrs. Anderson chose a beige linen suit with matching accessories, and a corsage of carnations and pink roses, for her going-away attire. The wedding trip is a motor tour of Maine and New Hampshire. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson will make their home in Stoughton after their return.

The bride is a graduate of West Bridgewater High school and the Chandler School for Women in Boston. She has been employed at the Bethlehem Steel Company. Mr. Anderson is a graduate of Newport and Portsmouth, R. I. schools and is now employed in Avon.
